When life gives you lemons, make lemonade! That same message of positivity and optimism is the guiding force behind Alex's Lemonade Stand, a registered 501(c)3 charity benefiting pediatric cancer research. To date, the charity has raised more than $100 million, and it's all thanks to the late Alexandra “Alex” Scott, a cancer patient who, at the age of 4, started a front yard lemonade stand to raise funds for a cure. Sadly, Alexandra passed away in 2004, but her legacy lives on as her foundation's grants help doctors administer the most up-to-date cancer treatments to their patients.
We at The Whitney, in partnership with Bozzuto management, want to help raise awareness and generate buzz for Alex's Lemonade Stand. Through the end of August, we'll be hosting upbeat and lively lemonade-themed events, as well as doling out lemon-centric treats and sweets. We've also created our own virtual fundraising page on the foundation's website. We're asking you to kindly pledge funds via the website, or drop by the front desk with your donation. Every little bit helps find a childhood cancer cure!
