Lace Up Your Sneakers for a Good Cause During the 33rd Annual Turkey Chase, Taking Place Near The Whitney on Thanksgiving Day

Need an excuse to reach for a second slice of pumpkin pie or an extra helping of turkey this Thanksgiving? Sign up for Bethesda's Turkey Chase! This annual road race, which returns for its 33rd year in 2015, is a Thanksgiving Day tradition for area runners of all ages. In fact, the Turkey Chase is the largest race held in Montgomery County; more than 10,000 participants are expected to queue up at the starting line this year!

The Turkey Chase comprises three different races: a USATF-certified 10K race (starting at 8:30 a.m.), a 2-mile fun run and walk (starting at 9 a.m.), and, open to kids 8 years old and younger, a 50m Tot Trot (starting at 9:45 a.m.) that awards every young participant a special prize — but only after they give chase to the event's silly turkey mascot!

Want to participate in this year's Turkey Chase, The Whitney? Registration can be completed online and costs $15 for the Tot Trot, $25 for the 2-mile race, and $45 for the 10K. Proceeds benefit the YMCA Bethesda-Chevy Chase and the Bethesda-Chevy Chase Rotary Club Foundation.
