Sushi Nakazawa is a new eatery that exclusively serves a 20-course tasting menu within the style of Edomae sushi. Chef Daisuke Nakazawa exudes his passion for sushi through his cooking and sources ingredients both domestically and internationally. The selection of wildly sourced fish and shellfish rotate daily, but a sample menu advertises hay-smoked sockeye salmon, golden eye snapper, fatty tuna, and California and Japanese sea urchin, among other delicacies. The sushi can be paired with sake and wine from an extensive collection, boasting about 550 wine bottles.
Inside is a chic, gold-accented dining room with a 10-seat sushi counter made of Calacatta marble. Everything was meticulously chosen – from the glassware to the custom rug. The restaurant runs three seatings per night, at 5 p.m., 7:15 p.m., and 9:30 p.m., and the meal costs $150 at the sushi bar or $120 in the dining room. Reservations are required and must be made 30 days in advance.
